Our Mission.
True North Rescue is a 501C non-profit (pending) animal rescue. We first began by working under the umbrella of another rescue organization in 2017, and became incorporated under our own name in 2021.
Our mission is to save dogs in need by bringing them to New York where they can be placed into loving homes.
True North values diversity and is proud to have partners in Texas, North Carolina, and Puerto Rico. We are also the only East Coast Partner for Slaughterhouse Survivors in Harbin, China where dogs are rescued from the meat trade.
True North is fully volunteer run and relies on the generosity of public donations and adoption fees to raise the funds needed to keep us running.
We are also entirely foster-based, with no physical shelter space to house dogs.
The kindness of our supporters is what makes our mission possible.
